Coffey Modica O’Meara Capowski LLP partners Michael Coffey and Jeffrey Miragliotta will be speaking at the 2022 CLM Construction Conference on September 21-23, 2022, in Coronado, CA. Mike and Jeff, known throughout the industry for their accomplishments litigating high-exposure construction matters, are veteran panelists of this premier event. 

Jeff’s session, “National – Climate Change: Trends and Strategies to Limit Claims and Mitigate Risk,” is scheduled for September 22, 2022, at 10:45 a.m. and will feature five panelists who will discuss the risks and impact – today and in the future – that climate change poses to design professionals, owners, and contractor. The panel will address the emerging risks of climate change and the ways design professionals, contractors, and owners should allocate that risk in contracts at the outset of a project.  Other topics to be discussed include climate change laws related to carbon emissions.

Mike’s session, “National – The Alternative to Alternative Dispute Resolution: Arbitration in Construction Matters and Beyond,” is scheduled later in the day on September 22, 2022, at   4 p.m. and will feature a panel discussion about arbitration, the venue where disputes related to construction projects are often resolved. Topics will include pitfalls of arbitration, the myths associated with arbitration and why they are false and the benefits of arbitration for construction disputes.
