Joseph Hopkins is an associate in Coffey Modica O’Meara’s New York office, practicing primarily in the areas of New York Labor Law, construction defect, professional liability, and casualty.

He handles all facets of litigation from inception to resolution and provides clients with a sophisticated approach to analyzing complex matters, resulting in favorable results at various stages of litigation. Joe also has appellate briefing experience before the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division, First and Second Judicial Departments, and New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division.

Some notable successes include a high-profile construction defect matter involving the County of Hudson and a developer, earning pre-discovery summary judgment in a Labor Law case, and helping develop a national litigation strategy for an indoor trampoline park company. Joe has also achieved positive results in numerous high value matters at mediation.

Joe is known for his ability to reduce the complicated into digestible nuggets that both his clients and the court can easily understand. He also attributes his success to his persuasive legal writing and oral argument skills.

Prior to joining CMOC LLP, Joe was an associate at prominent national and regional law firms in New York and New Jersey. He also served as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable John I. Gizzo, J.S.C.
